I've been here a number of times because I like their Philly. Usually the service is ok and the food good. Last night, unfortunately, may have been my last visit though. To start, I tried calling for over an hour. No answer. I had developed such a hankering for a Philly that I drove over around 8:30. The young man at the front was sitting behind the counter doing something on his cell phone. I asked if I could order and he had to ask his "boss" (possibly an owner) if he could take my order and kept looking at the clock. the boss seemed annoyed about making my order. I mentioned that the website and the sign on the door both say they're open until I0pm, and the boss muttered something in a bit of a gruff tone, and the young man told me "well, our closing time depends on the night. There's supposed to be three or four of us tonight and it's just us two. It was really busy earlier, too, so we're tired." I was floored. They didn't seem to have any orders at the time, and had ignored the phone for over an hour... they clearly didn't WANT to take more orders. I've been in that position before, where I've had to work a double because someone called out. You plaster on a smile and the customer/guest shouldn't know you're tired. Each one should be made to feel appreciated and valued. I felt like a burden to these people. Normally the food makes up for the service. Last night, this was not the case. The poutine was warmed (maybe to melt the cheese so I wouldn't know if it was really curds or not) in the pizza oven in a foil take out container. First time I've seen poutine done that way. The fries were burned and stuck to the bottom and edges of the container, along with some of the cheese. My Philly was totally different than usual - it seemed like it had concentrated flavor and was very very salty. I don't know why! Maybe they cooked the meat in the grill scrapings because they were annoyed I ordered?? I couldn't even eat the whole thing. The wings were ok. Good size, meaty, crispy. But the sauces, which were also good, didn't stick to the wings. The garlic parm was just garlic butter, and the Buffalo sauce was VERY thin. I guess it's time to find a new Philly place :-/

We were staying at a nearby hotel and wanted to try something other than the hotel food. We found this place online and decided to give it a try! We were a large party of 9 adults, a 2 yr old, 5 month and 4 month old. This place was small inside but fit us all nicely. They have a large variety of foods at reasonable prices. We got the wings which we absolutely loved, Philly cheese steak which was also really good, fries, and a bunch of salads. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you are in the area!

Great service with a smile, very impressive portions, good quality food for the price, and great specials, we'll definitely be back to try more stuff.

When they first opened then food and service were great now your lucky if they even answer the phone after 8:30 on a weekend. The last time we ordered the once green salads are now mostly iceberg and the apps had a microwaved texture.

I am reviewing the Hungry Dutchman because, after several years of living virtually just around the corner, I've kept forgetting to go there for either lunch or dinner, but when I do, I am absolutely delighted with the food, the quantity, the quality, and the price. Dropped one star from the wonderful five, because music and ambience is not really their thing. Too, the outside of the place is nondescript. You may hardly notice the sign, although that's not really their fault. Local regulations prevent them from erecting anything more noticeable. Still, They have a chicken turkey bacon and something or other wrap that's unbelievable. And be sure to order their sweet potato fries ($1extra) instead of the frenchfries. Their sweet potato fries come with this incredibly marvelous spicy honey mustard/ranch dipping sauce that I believe they should be packaging and selling separately. It is that good. Had their quesadillas today. Yummmmm!

I am really sorry to write such a poor review...but I've tried the place twice. First time was just bad pizza....second time was bad pizza with a very nasty attitude from an employee. The pizza is like bad bowling alley pizza, they obviously put no effort into it and it smells like old grease. That's just me though?!

We are regulars at the Dutchman. Food is always very fresh and prepared with a lot of care. Menu covers a ton of american favorites (wings, pizza, sandwiches, salads, fries, burgers and more). Attention to detail is really appreciated. The salads are always crisp, chicken freshly cooked and the dressing are house made. We get the house salad (to share, they are meal sized) if we are trying to be good and the Buffalo Chicken Salad when we want a treat. Wings are big, perfectly fried and tossed with a wide selection of sauces. Try the classic Buffalo or the Caribbean Jerk to start. Best we've had in the Burlington area. Hot sandwiches are also great. Philly has great flavor, tender beef on a nice toasted roll. French dip is likewise Best sweet potato fries we've ever had (regular fries are great too). Portions are on the generous size and prices are fair. We usually eat-in though take out and delivery are options.

I had high hopes for this place, it's local, it's not a chain. So I was looking forward to eating here. I called to place an order, the guy was nice and told me it was going to be about 45 minutes. A little bit of a wait, but I could deal. An hour and fifteen minutes later our food finally showed up, there was no apology from the driver about being late, though he was still pleasant. Honestly, what you get here is food you can make at home that will cost you a lot less and taste a lot better. I ordered the chicken tenders basket which is about $8. What you get is a miniscule pile of fries with pre-frozen chicken strips. The fries were great, but there were barely any. The rest of our food was just as lack-luster and equally overpriced. I've got a tip for the owners, just put in a little bit of effort and this place could be great. A little goes a long way.

Give this place a try. We've gone there three times since they've opened and have had great service and great food. There is something for everyone on the menu. I've tried their different salads, which are huge and packed full of goodies, and a hamburger--also very good. I'm not crazy about their fries (maybe fresh cut would be better) but their onion rings are fantastic. Even the kids are diggin' the place. Support this new, local restaurant. It's a great addition to our community.

Been here twice and have left satisfied both times. The food is diner style--the kind of thing you expect from a pub. The staff is friendly, and it's usually pretty quiet. The pizza is good (homemade crust, light on the sauce, not too greasy) and the sandwiches are huge (I almost couldn't finish mine). On our second visit, my wife got a taco salad (just so-so, she said) and I sampled the wings (homemade Caribbean jerk sauce--very tasty). I'm a little bummed that they don't have any specific kids items on the menu--but with pizza on there, we've at least got that. We'll be back!

Have been here three times and the feeling is still the same. The food is tasty but the portions are small for what we would hope for in a 8.25 $ before tax sub. Basically, the same size or smaller than a foot long at Subway. If you are going to charge 9 dollars for a large sub like some other local places you should almost be able to make two meals out of it. We got five meals. Chicken Philly, Quesadilla, the hot turkey open faced sandwich, regular Philly, and the tuna melt. When asked about the 7.95 $ hot turkey sandwich the person said, "delicious, wonderful". The quesadilla came without sour cream or salsa and the comments were, "tasty, acceptable portion, but should have been 7 or 7.50 instead of 8.95." Both phillys were small for the money, and the tuna melt for 6.95 was good and came with a lot of fries but the actual sandwich was small. Fast service and friendly staff but everyone felt the menu could use at least a dollar break per item.

Stepped in here on one of the first warm days of the year, Sunday 3/10/13. Short version: Pub fare; Ample portions, good flavor and service. Can't wait to try the patio when it's warm I was greeted warmly, all of the tables were set and things look clean as a whistle. We had the wings and the sliders. If the portions were smallish beforehand, they're ample now. The quality was pretty damn good actually; although it's pub fare they did put their own minor flourishes. For example, the slider buns were these neat brown almost sweet buns. They were great dipped in mustard. The wings were good quality, substantive (for $1 each they ought to be), and you could tell they were fried in nice clean oil. Excellent. When you walk in it strikes you as the kind of place that could go either way. Luckily, they do actually care and put in the effort to make your stay enjoyable.

After driving by this place so many times, my husband and I finally ventured out to give it a try. I had a grilled turkey sandwich, and he had Bleu cheese burger. He said the burger was one of the best he has had and was impressed. It was a bit awkward when we walked inside. There were several people sitting behind the counter, who did not direct us when we walked in. Other than that the food and service was great, and we plan on going back again sometime soon.
